The SAFEXPLAIN project met with members of its industrial advisory board on 03 October 2024 to present project advancements at the beginning of the project’s third and final year. This meeting was important for ensuring the project’s research outcomes align with real-world industry needs. Involving experienced professionals from relevant sectors helps ensure that the project’s goals are not only scientifically and technically sound, but that the are also aligned with market demands and user expectations.
The meeting counted with the active participation of experts from Parasoft and Pierer Innovation who participate in activities related to safety critical systems. Members of the industrial advisory board shared their knowledge of current challenges and trends and offered valuable feedback on the practical applications of project innovations. Fruitful discussions around corner case management and input data representativeness challenges for AI arose during the meeting.
As highlighted through exchange in the meeting, the familiarity of industry experts with regulatory and standardization developments and requirements provided important considerations for project members who are working to ensure that the project anticipates and considers any challenges associated with this topic.
