SAFEXPLAIN partner Enrico Mezzeti from the Barcelona Supercomputing Center joined 8 other Horizon Europe-funded projects under call HORIZON-CL4-2021-HUMAN-01-01to present the project´s work on TrustworthyAI and its implications for its use cases. The nine projects, known as the TrustWorthyAI Cluster, joined together to showcase their progress in the development of Trustworthy AI technology, specifically by sharing the role TrustworthyAI plays in their use cases.
The event was held in the context of ADRA-e Birds of a Feather webinar series, which aims to provide insights into Research and Innovation Actions (RIAs) projects to foster collaboration and avail a joint platform for debate and results-sharing in AI, Data and Robotics.
The event counted with 169 attendees ranging from industry professionals, research institutes and AI enthusiasts who participated through the Q&A session.
Enrico focused on the project´s work in trustworthiness in the autmotive use case.
The meaning of trustworthiness in this case study is being able to explain: To be able to explain the process that lead to the decision taken by the AI function and to provide the factors that led to this decision, the rational behind this and the sources used to support the decision making. This information is crucial for regulatory bodies, for engineers, passengers and all stakeholders to understand how and why the AI system took that given decision and to be able to understand the limitations of these types of systems.
