Members of the SAFEXPLAIN consortium met in Barcelona, Spain on 29-30 October 2024 to discuss the project’s process at the end of the second year of the project. With one year to go, project partners used this in-person meeting to close loose ends and ensure that everyone was on board with the expectations and goals for the next 12 months.
The SAFEXPLAIN project, composed of a six-partner consoritum coordinated by the Barcelona Supercomputing Center. AIKO, exida development. IKERLAN, NAVINFO and RISE, are paving the way towards a novel and flexible approach that allows for the certification – hence adoption- of DL-based solutions in CAIS.
These partners bring their unique skills, backgrounds and perspectives to this challenge, thus facilitating:
- scientific and technical solutions that enable fully autonomous critical systems with certified and economically viable solutions
- an increased efficiency of CAIS because of the benefits safe DL soultions can offer
- a competitive European CAIS industry that benefits from DL functionalities while remaining trustworthy
