With the first 18 months of the project behind it, the SAFEXPLAIN consortium met in Lund from 16-17 April to discuss project status and next steps for the next 18 months.
Great strides have made been in the project, with key highlights including:
- An overview of where we are and where we are going: spoiler- we’re on track!
- Introductions to new collaborators – women represent almost half the consortium!
- A deeper look into the AI-Functional Safety Management methodology
- Feedback received by certification authorities on this methodology
- A look into work being done on AI-specific redundancy
- Work done on the (AI-V&V) strategy and associated methods for the verification and validation of ML/DL components & a Catalogue of Scenarios and Test Cases
- XAI by design architecture to support trustworthiness
- Discussions on the SAFEXPLAIN software stack and platform
- Updates on our three case studies
- Our collaboration with other projects in the AI EU ecosystem
We’re looking forward to the next 18 months and sharing more results as they become available.
